“It all started with one farmer, a scotch cart and two oxen”

Our Co-Founders were successful in leasing and later buying 90 acres at the acreage price of a going cane farm, with an option to purchase a further 18.65 hectares. This option-land mostly consisted of gum plantation, which was later transformed into the front nine holes of the course.

Bert Ozard designed the original nine holes (now the back nine) “he spent many hours positioning fairways and alternate trees, always mindful of the fauna and flora”

“Equipment was brought in for all the earthworks but the farmers did all the planting”
